WHAT sort of writer are you? What sort of writer do you dream of becoming? Have you found your writing voice? If you have not written before, do you want to find out what that voice might be?

This residential creative writing workshop is the second to be held on the beautiful island of Mljet. This exciting fact or fiction course in the heart of the Mediterranean will help you develop your creative skills and explore your unique powers of expression. The course incorporates exercises that enable you to access the conscious and unconscious mind to free the imagination and develop the voice that is uniquely your own. This 8-day course will include:

   • 2.5 hour morning workshops
   • one-to-one afternoon tutorials to help students begin, shape and edit their material
   • techniques to start writing or develop work-in-progress
   • a chance to initiate pieces that lead to more extended works of prose or poetry
   • the opportunity to have writing done in the workshop read and discussed
   • Open Mic sessions before dinner for those who wish to share work (voluntary)

Workshops will be conducted in a friendly, constructive atmosphere and are open to anyone with a desire to write, from beginners to experienced writers. The serene, inspirational surroundings offer time for writing, relaxation and recreation.

LOCATION
The course will take place on the island of Mljet (pronounced mill-yet), one of the most southerly islands on the Dalmatian coast. An interesting literary association is that Mljet is rumoured to be the island of the nymph, Calypso, where Odysseus spent seven years, enchanted by the island's beauty. Ulysses’ Cave, near the village of Babina Polje, is said to be the one described in Book V of Homer's Odyssey.

ACCOMMODATION
The course takes place at the 3-star Pansion Radulj which has its own organic farm with goats, vegetables and pomegranate, kiwi and fig trees. Meals include a variety of fresh fish, seafood, meat and vegetarian options. Each room has a TV, refrigerator and en suite shower. Many rooms have a stunning sea view.

RECREATION
Swimming in the Adriatic Sea is a minute away. The pristine, turquoise waters offer excellent snorkelling. For a modest fee, boat trips can be arranged with the pansion's owners.

ACCOMMODATION
Double room: £725 per person (2 beds, 2 sharing). Single room: £905. Single rooms are limited and early booking is advised.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Paper (bound notebook preferably), pen & a spare. Clipboard (optional)

TUTORIALS
All group and private tutorials are voluntary. Any writer wishing to use the time to write will be free to do so.

OPEN MIC NIGHTS
Before dinner each evening there will be the opportunity to share prepared work. Word limit: 1300 per session
