WHAT sort of writer are you? What sort of writer do you dream of becoming? Have you found your writing voice? If you have not written before, do you want to find out what that voice might be?

This creative writing workshop uses exercises that enable you to access the conscious and unconscious mind to free the imagination and develop the voice that is uniquely your own. This weekend will include:

  • 2 daily writing sessions
  • techniques to start writing or develop work-in-progress
  • a chance to initiate pieces that lead to more extended works of prose or poetry 
  • the opportunity to have writing done in the workshop read and discussed (voluntary)
  • Open Mic evening session for those who wish to share work already written (voluntary)

The workshop will be conducted in a friendly, constructive atmosphere and is open to anyone with a desire to write, from beginners to experienced writers.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is provided in a purpose-built Guest House. Single rooms are limited and early booking is strongly advised.

ARRIVAL
Residential course members can book in after 5.00PM on Friday. Our first dinner together will be served at 6.30PM. If you are coming by train, the closest station is Didcot which is approximately 5 miles away.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Paper (bound notebook preferably), pen & a spare. Clipboard (optional)

OPEN MIC NIGHT
If you wish to participate in the Open Mic session, please bring 15 photocopies of work you wish to read, plus your original, as this will give you the best feedback. Word limit: 1300
